Motor Overview
The Xi’an Taifu Simar YB2 and YBX2 series high-voltage explosion-proof motors are high-voltage flameproof three-phase asynchronous motors (frame size 355-560) that combine advanced foreign technologies and our company’s long-term successful technology in producing high-voltage medium-sized motors. They are high-end products developed using the latest design methods and the application results of the latest materials.
This series of motors comply with the provisions of GB 755-2008 “Rotating Electrical Machines – Ratings and Performance”, GB 3836.1-2010 “Explosive Atmospheres – Part 1: General Requirements”, and GB 3836.2-2010 “Explosive Gas Atmospheres – Part 2: Equipment Protected by Flameproof Enclosures “d””. The explosion-proof mark is ExdIIBT4 Gb, suitable for Class B of Factory Type II, with a temperature group of T4 and an equipment protection level of Gb. It can replace the ExdIIAT4 Gb product.
This series of motors have the advantages of excellent flameproof performance, high reliability, compact structure, high efficiency and energy saving, safety and environmental protection, low vibration, low noise, and convenient installation and maintenance.
This series of motors is a new generation of high-voltage flameproof three-phase asynchronous motors and is a replacement product for the YB560-710 series (IC511 tube cooling structure) high-voltage flameproof three-phase asynchronous motors.

Technical Characteristics
High Reliability and Long Service Life
In order to make the motor housing meet the 1.5MPa water pressure regulation of the new GB 3836-2010 standard, the frame and end cover are modeled and analyzed through the advanced design software ANSYS. The frame is made of high-strength gray cast iron, and the end cover is made of high-strength gray cast iron with reinforcing ribs or steel plates.
To extend the service life of the motor, the frame, fan and other components of the motor adopt advanced aerodynamic design and an innovative dual-circuit cooling concept to ensure uniform temperature distribution inside the motor. Gray cast iron frames and end covers, as well as high-quality corrosion-resistant protection and surface painting, can protect the motor from climate effects for a long time and effectively extend the service life of the motor.
High Efficiency and Energy Saving
The YB2 and YBX2 series high-voltage flameproof three-phase asynchronous motors achieve the goal of high efficiency and energy saving through their perfect design and manufacturing. Compared with the YB560-710 series high-voltage flameproof motors of the same power and number of poles, the efficiency is increased by an average of 0.8 percentage points, with significant energy-saving effects and a substantial reduction in motor operating costs.

Low Vibration
The perfect rotor dynamics design, innovative production process and high-precision dynamic balance combine to ensure a lower vibration level of the motor. The YB2 and YBX2 series high-voltage flameproof three-phase asynchronous motors not only meet the requirements of GB10068 standard for vibration, but also exceed the requirements in most cases.
Low Noise
Lower noise and optimized air path design are inseparable from the correct selection of the fan type. Due to the low air resistance of the external air path of the motor with IC411 cooling method, the airflow between the heat dissipation ribs on the frame mainly flows along the axial direction. Therefore, the fan and fan cover are designed to be the best streamlined shape, which not only improves the fan efficiency, but also greatly reduces the fan noise.
The internal fan is cast from aluminum alloy ZL101 and can rotate in both directions. All 2-pole motor external fans are axial flow fans and are only suitable for one rotation direction. The external fans of motors above 4-poles are basin-type centrifugal fans, welded from steel plate parts and can rotate in both directions.
The high-strength structure of the frame and end cover, as well as the optimized selection of the stator and rotor slot fit, also make the motor have a lower noise level.
Effective Cooling System
The YB2 and YBX2 series high-voltage flameproof three-phase asynchronous motors have two independent cooling air paths (see Figure 1): the internal cooling air path and the external cooling air path. Most of the heat generated by losses is transferred from the stator core to the frame and then taken away by the external cooling air. The heat generated by the remaining part of the losses is transferred to the frame by the internal cooling circuit and then taken away by the external cooling air.
The cooling air flow of the external air path blows through the heat dissipation ribs. Due to the waist reduction of the frame, the external airflow blows from the non-drive end to the drive end along the heat dissipation ribs, enabling the airflow to reach a higher heat dissipation speed. The junction box is installed at a position far from the heat dissipation ribs and does not affect the flow of the cooling air. The inner side of the frame around the end of the stator winding is provided with internal heat dissipation ribs.
The drive end and non-drive end covers of the Xi’an Taifu Simar YB2/YBX2 series high-voltage explosion-proof motors have the same structure. The inner and outer surfaces of the end covers of H450 and below are provided with heat dissipation ribs. These measures play a significant role in sufficient heat dissipation.
The internal air path is cooled by the internal fan at the non-drive end to make the air flow through the rotor ventilation holes. Severe turbulence occurs in the airflow outside the internal heat dissipation ribs of the frame and end cover, and it undergoes thorough secondary cooling. The frame plays the role of heat exchange between the internal and external air, and the cooled air returns to the drive end through the four ventilation ducts in the frame in the same direction as the external cooling air, making the heat dissipation of the motor more uniform and achieving the optimized design of the internal and external air paths.
Stator
The stator of this series of motors adopts an external pressure-fitting structure. The stator winding adopts F-grade insulation material. The coil end has reliable fixation and binding. During the manufacturing process, it has undergone multiple inter-turn pulse voltage tests and withstand voltage tests to the ground, and is treated with the vacuum pressure impregnation solvent-free process VPI. Therefore, the insulation system of the motor has high electrical strength, mechanical strength, good corrosion resistance and moisture resistance. Special anti-corona treatment is carried out on the coil, core and frame to make the motor meet the requirements of high-altitude use.
Rotor
This series of motors adopt two structures: squirrel-cage cast aluminum and copper bar rotors. The cast aluminum rotor bars and short-circuit rings are cast as a whole, making the cast aluminum cage and rotor laminations fit tightly without looseness, ensuring the safety and reliability of the motor operation. The copper bar rotor cage bars and end rings are welded by medium frequency welding with good quality to ensure reliable operation. The rotor is subjected to dynamic balance treatment to reduce vibration and ensure stable operation.
Bearing
The H500-2-6kV and H560-2 of this series of motors adopt end cover spherical sliding bearings with forced lubrication. The rest of the motors adopt rolling bearings. They are equipped with non-stop oil injection and drainage devices, which can inject grease during operation and also drain waste grease during operation. The motor nameplate data contains data such as oil filling time and bearing model. The theoretical service life of the bearings is calculated to be higher than 100,000 hours.
Junction Box
The standard designed motor has four junction boxes, namely the main power junction box, the auxiliary junction box and two bearing temperature measurement junction boxes. According to user requirements, the main power junction box can be installed in four different positions on the ventilation slot of the frame to meet different wiring requirements on site. For the standard motor, the main power junction box is installed on the upper right of the drive end frame (looking at the motor shaft extension end) and the bottom is for incoming lines. The auxiliary junction box is installed on the upper right of the non-drive end frame (looking at the motor shaft extension end) and the bottom is for incoming lines. The two bearing temperature measurement junction boxes are installed on the upper left of the drive end and non-drive end frames (looking at the motor shaft extension end) and the bottom is for incoming lines.
There are three M16 terminals installed inside the main power junction box. One grounding terminal is installed inside and outside the main power junction box respectively. A rubber sealing device and a cable anti-pulling device are installed at the wiring port. There are five concentric circles with diameters of φ64, φ57, φ51, φ46 and φ40 at the sealing ring of the wiring port, meeting the user’s requirements for multi-specification cable incoming lines.
The auxiliary junction box is mainly used for stator winding temperature measurement and heater wiring. One grounding terminal is installed inside the auxiliary junction box. A rubber sealing device is installed at the wiring port. There are four concentric circles with diameters of φ20, φ16, φ12 and φ8 and two concentric circles with diameters of φ7 and φ5 at the sealing ring of the wiring port, meeting the user’s requirements for multi-specification cable incoming lines.
The bearing temperature measurement junction box is used for the wiring of the bearing temperature measurement device, and a rubber sealing device is installed at the wiring port.
Monitoring and Protection
The standard designed motor provides the following monitoring and protection devices:
The stator temperature measurement element adopts platinum thermal resistance Pt100 three-wire system, with a total of six, of which three are working and three are standby;
The bearing temperature measurement element adopts platinum thermal resistance Pt100 three-wire system, with a total of two;
The anti-condensation space heating system has a power supply voltage of AC 220V;
The leads of the stator temperature measurement element and the heater are all connected to the terminals in the auxiliary junction box, and the leads of the bearing temperature measurement element are connected to the terminals in the bearing temperature measurement junction box.

No additional axial force and radial force other than the weight of the coupling shall be borne on the motor shaft extension;
The motor and the driven equipment are driven by couplings. When the motor and the driven machinery are connected by elastic couplings, there should be axial limit devices on the couplings, and the allowable axial movement should be negotiated with the manufacturer;
The Xi’an Taifu Simar YB2/YBX2 series high-voltage explosion-proof motor is allowed to start continuously twice in the actual cold state or once in the hot state. The motor should stop naturally between two starts. An additional restart of the motor should be after 4 hours. If frequent starting of the motor is required or the motor is required to drive a load with a large moment of inertia, please contact and negotiate with our company before signing the contract so that our company can provide a motor with suitable performance for the user to ensure reliable operation of the motor.
Ordering Instructions for YB2/YBX2 High-Voltage Explosion-Proof Motors
If it needs to be matched for export and there are requirements for humid and tropical climates, please indicate in the contract.
Before ordering, please first consult the product sample of Xi’an Xima Motor to determine the model, specification and other data of the required product. Try to select the standard specification products listed in the sample. Please indicate the model, power, voltage, rotational speed, excitation mode, excitation voltage and structural installation form of the motor in the order contract.
When there are special requirements for the product, such as double shaft extensions, reverse position of the outgoing line box, reverse rotation of the shaft, etc., they must be clearly indicated in the contract.
If the required variety and specification are not listed in this sample, or there are other special requirements, a contract or trial production agreement shall be signed after mutual negotiation and agreement.
For all kinds of products of Xi’an Xima Motor, except for the shaft extension key of the motor, all accessories are not within the supply range. If the user needs accessories or spare parts, such as brushes, brush holders, etc., please indicate the name, specification and quantity of the required accessories or spare parts in the contract in advance.
