The letter “Z” represents “direct current” (DC), while the number “2” indicates the second nationwide standardized design. The digits following the hyphen denote the frame size and core length. For example, in the Simo Z2-41 motor, “4” represents the frame size, and “1” indicates a short core. In the Z2-112 motor, “11” represents the frame size, and “2” signifies a long core.

1. The Z2 series small DC motors are designed according to the JB1104-68 standard issued by the Ministry of Machinery Industry of the People’s Republic of China.
2. The Xi’an Simo Z2 series small DC motors are available in 11 different frame sizes, with each size offering two core lengths. The series includes DC motors, DC generators, and DC voltage-regulated generators, suitable for general operating environments. The Z2 series DC motors are primarily used for general drive purposes, generators for general DC power supply, and voltage-regulated generators for battery charging systems.
3. Excitation Methods: The motors use shunt or separately excited excitation with a small stabilizing winding. The generators can use compound or separately excited excitation (for generators with a rated voltage of 230V). Voltage-regulated generators use shunt excitation (without a series winding). The separately excited excitation voltage for the motors can be either 110V or 220V. For motors with a rated voltage of 110V, only a 110V excitation voltage is available.
4. The motors can be driven by a V-belt, spur gear, or flexible coupling, and they should not bear any axial thrust on the motor shaft.
5. Depending on the application requirements, the Xi’an TaiFu Simo Z2 series motors can be manufactured as tropicalized versions (TH) with moisture-proof, mildew-proof, and smoke-proof features for use in humid and hot climates. Additionally, the Z2 series motors from sizes 2 to 11 can be adapted to serve as derivatives for ZYS-A type tachogenerators.
6. The Z2 series motors are self-ventilated as a basic configuration. When reducing the externally applied armature voltage for speed control, the torque decreases proportionally with the speed.
7. The Z2 series motors in sizes 6-11 can also be configured with an external blower, with the blower mounted above the end cap on the shaft extension side.
8. The models of external blowers for the Z2 series motors in sizes 6-11 are listed in Table 1.
9. The Xi’an TaiFu Simo Z2 series motors are small DC motors for general industrial use, suitable for power drives with a constant power speed regulation range not exceeding 2:1 and an overload capacity not exceeding 1.5 times the rated torque. They are applicable in industries such as metal cutting machinery, papermaking, dyeing, printing, and cement production. The generators can be used as power sources, for lighting, or other constant voltage power supply needs.

Ordering Instructions for TaiFu Simo Z2 Series DC Motors

1. Before placing an order, please refer to the product catalog to determine the required model specifications. It is advisable to select standard specifications listed in the catalog. Please specify the motor model, power, voltage, rotation speed, excitation method, excitation voltage, and structural installation form in the order contract.
2. For 2-pole motors of 5.5kW and above, and 4-pole motors of 37kW and above, belt transmission should not be used.
3. Unless otherwise specified, the default parameters for Simo motors are horizontal installation (B3), insulation class B, and protection class IP44.
