Overview of the Xi’an Taifu Simo ZDT2 Series DC Motors

The ZDT2 series of DC motors developed by Xi’an Taifu Simo Motor are new products designed and manufactured using the latest technology, based on our factory’s Z series of medium-sized DC motors. These motors are specifically designed for driving the rollers of sugarcane mills. The performance, dimensions, and technical requirements of this series comply with both national standards (GB) and the standards of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The mechanical dimensions and tolerances of all parts of the motor conform to the standards set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Operating Conditions for Xi’an Taifu Simo ZDT2 Series DC Motors:

1. The Xi’an Taifu Simo ZDT2 series DC motors can be installed in harsh environments, but the correct cooling method and protection level must be chosen to keep the motor clean inside.
2. The cooling air for the ZDT2 series motors should not contain acids, alkalis, or other gases that could damage the insulation and commutation performance of the motor.
3. The ZDT2 series motors are suitable for use in humid tropical areas, with the ambient air temperature not exceeding 40°C.
4. The power supply for the ZDT2 series motors uses a static rectifier power supply, but a DC generator power supply can also be used.
5. When using a static rectifier power supply, the rectifier’s pulse number should not be less than 6. At rated base speed, rated voltage, and rated load current, the peak ripple of the power supply should not exceed 10%, so an external smoothing reactor is not necessary.

Cooling Methods, Structure, and Installation Types of Xi’an Taifu Simo ZDT2 Series DC Motors:

The protection levels of the Xi’an Taifu Simo ZDT2 series DC motors comply with GB/T4942.1 and IEC34-5 “Degrees of Protection Provided by Enclosures (IP Code)” standards, with available protection levels of IP23 and IP44. According to GB/T1993 and IEC34-6 “Methods of Cooling for Rotating Electrical Machines” standards, the cooling methods for this series include IC06, IC17, and IC37. The standard form of this motor has the cooling air inlet at the drive end (non-commutator end).

The installation types of this series conform to GB997 and IEC34-7 “Codes for Types of Construction and Mounting Arrangements of Rotating Electrical Machines.” The standard configuration is IM1001 with end-shield bearings, foot-mounted, and a cylindrical single shaft extension. Derivatives include IM1002 with end-shield bearings, foot-mounted, and a cylindrical double shaft extension.

The motor terminal box is located on the right side of the motor housing when viewed from the drive end (non-commutator end). If the user requires the terminal box to be on the other side of the motor housing, this should be specified as a “reverse box” in the order. The standard output shaft is a single shaft extension, with the output direction being leftward when facing the terminal box (forward box). A double shaft extension can also be provided if required. The basic rotation direction of the shaft is counterclockwise when viewed from the commutator end. The transmission method for the motor is through a flexible coupling.

Performance of Xi’an Taifu Simo ZDT2 Series DC Motors:

1. The rating of this motor series is for continuous operation (S1).
2. The standard rated voltages for this motor series are 440V and 520V, with other voltage levels available by agreement at the time of order.
3. The basic excitation method for this series is separate excitation, with four lead terminals on the excitation winding. When the two groups are connected in series, the excitation voltage is 220V. Other excitation voltage levels can be agreed upon when ordering.
4. Short-term overload capacity: The base speed overload capacity is 2.5 times the rated current, and the high-speed overload capacity is 1.8 times the rated current.
5. The rate of change of current (𝑑𝑖/𝑑𝑡di/dt) is allowed to reach 200 times the rated current per second.

Motor Accessories:

Motors can be designed to accommodate additional accessories such as tachogenerators, pulse generators, centrifugal switches, and brakes, according to user requirements, and specific details can be negotiated with the factory.

Ordering Instructions for Xi’an Taifu Simo ZDT2 Series DC Motors:

1. Before ordering, please refer to the Simo motor product catalog to determine the model specifications and other data of the required product. Whenever possible, choose the standard specifications listed in the catalog. Please specify the motor model, power, voltage, rotation speed, excitation method, excitation voltage, and structural installation type in the order contract, such as ZDT2-450-3 500KW 440V 650r/min, separately excited 220V, horizontal with foot or IMB3.
2. If there are special requirements for the motor product, such as double shaft extension, reverse box terminal position, reverse rotation of the shaft, etc., these must be clearly stated in the contract.
3. If the required model specifications are not listed in the Simo motor catalog, or if there are other special requirements, the contract or trial production agreement can be signed after mutual agreement.
4. All types of products, except for the key of the motor shaft extension, are not within the supply range of accessories. If the user needs accessories or spare parts, such as brushes, brush holders, etc., please specify the names and quantities of the required accessories or spare parts in the contract.
