For the Xi’an Taifu Simo JS/JR series three-phase asynchronous motors, the model JS115-6 represents a squirrel-cage rotor asynchronous motor. The number 11 indicates the frame size, the number 5 denotes the core length, and it has 6 poles. The Xi’an Taifu Simo JS/JR series three-phase asynchronous motors are of the protected type. They can also be made in a duct-ventilated version according to user requirements. Protected-type motors should be installed at an altitude not exceeding 1 km, with ambient air temperatures not higher than +40°C and not lower than 0°C. The air should be clean and free from corrosive gases like acids and alkalis, and the motor should not operate in environments with explosive gases or high dust levels.
If the ambient air temperature exceeds the specified range or the air is not clean, a duct-ventilated design should be used. In this case, the cooling air entering the motor from both ends should be between 0°C and 40°C, and the air pressure inside the ducts and motor should be higher than the surrounding air pressure. If necessary, blowers, dust filters, and other devices should be added.
The Xi’an Taifu Simo JS series squirrel-cage motors allow for full-voltage direct starting. The initial starting torque and current values are proportional to the rated values, as shown in Table 3. If the power grid cannot support full-voltage direct starting, reduced-voltage starting can be used, but the starting torque will decrease in proportion to the square of the starting voltage.
For the JR series motors, a starting resistor must be connected in the rotor circuit during startup. Direct short-circuit starting of the rotor windings is not allowed.
