The Xi’an Taifu Simo JS/JR series three-phase asynchronous motors are of a protected design. They can also be made in a duct ventilation style upon customer request.
Protected motors should be installed at altitudes not exceeding 1 km, with ambient air temperatures not higher than +40°C and not lower than 0°C, in clean air free from corrosive gases such as acids or alkalis, and in indoor environments. These motors are not permitted to operate in environments containing explosive gases or high dust levels.
When the ambient air temperature exceeds the above requirements or is not clean, a duct ventilation system should be used. In this case, the cooling air entering both ends of the motor should be between 0°C and 40°C, and the air pressure inside the duct and motor must be higher than the surrounding air pressure. If necessary, blowers, dust filters, and other equipment should be added.
The Xi’an Taifu Simo JS series squirrel-cage motors allow full voltage direct starting. The initial starting torque and initial starting current ratios to the rated values are shown in Table 3. If the customer’s power grid does not permit full voltage direct starting, reduced voltage starting can be used, but the starting torque will decrease in proportion to the square of the starting voltage.
For JR series motors, a starting resistor must be connected in the rotor circuit before starting. Direct short-circuit starting of the rotor winding is not allowed.
